1961
We came from Mountain View, Carter Randall, Packanack, Pines Lake, Preakness and other grammar schools far and wide. We met when we were about twelve and had great times at Anthony Wayne Jr. High. We had the Paddock behind us to go in the back door and buy burgers, the best freshman football team (later the greatest senior team coached by Fred Kiel all the way), we learned to dance on a stage and then after graduating from the 9th grade in 1958 we moved across the street to the Senior High School. We became the ninth class to graduate from Wayne High School on June 22nd 1961. Now people ask where you graduated from and when you say Wayne, they say Hills or Valley? How this area has grown, our old Jr. High is now condo condo condo and Route 23 is one of the busiest highways in the nation. Forget progress, let's go back to the good old days of OUR championship football, basketball and track teams, G.A.A. (when it was all girls), the Milk Barn, Hollywood Diner, the Texan, Canteen, T-Bowl and Bus 84.....
